Guru r brahma guru r vishnu gurudevo maheshwaraha

gurussakshaat parabrahma tasmay shri gurave namaha

is the famous verse which means Brahma, Vishnu & Maheshwara can be seen in Teacher. In vedas there is a mention "Acharya devo Bhava" which equalises teacher to god.

In my thinking, TEACHER is 

T : Thinking

E : Excellence

A : Awareness

C : Creativity

H : Honesty 

E : Efficiency

R : Regularity.

Mother is the first teacher to child. In ancient times education was through gurukula system. Children used to stay with teachers and used to learn things; to become a good human being. Now children are sent to school where it learns most of the things. As mother is the first teacher to child, they try to imimtate their mother before schooling. When it starts to attend school, they start to imitate teachers who becomes their idol. If child likes the teacher learning subject becomes easy.

It is very difficult to choose a single teacher as favourite, since each teacher has their own method of teaching or impressing. Its almost like choosing between parents.

My most favourite teacher is Janaki madam, who taught me in my montessori. the best thing of teacher was every student used to like her. She was never harsh to anyone. She used to interact with students very affectionately. She used to call us 'raja', 'chinna'. When a child goes to school for the first day, its natural that crying of insecurity. In that time she used to hug children and console them.

I still remember as soon as she entered the school in the morning, all children used to run behind her to welcome her, and this was not a one day affair. This used to happen each and everyday.

I learnt system of cleanliness, punctuality, discipline and many other things. She taught us to replace the things in their original place after use, so it will be very easy to access it for the next time. These are all very small things, but learning them makes a very big diffrerence.

So teachers play a very important role in blending the student to become a sucessful citizen and human being to country and useful o society. Teacher is the second parent to child. Its great boon to have a good teacher, also greatest boon to be a teacher. 

If a child likes the teacher, and the way of teaching, certainly understanding the subject becomes very easy. Even while learning Vedas, Geetha, they start with " om shree gurubyo namah harihi om" which symbolises even God comes after guru, since guru is the person who shows the way to ultimate godliness.

 Teaching is one of the best and honourable profession. Teachers have to continue their education even after they qualify. Learning process continues. Teachers mould the future citizens. Teachers have a lot of responsibility and need to make sure that they make learning a positive experience for all. By being sensitive to the needs of everyone and presenting different ways of doing things, it can be possible for everyone to have an equal opportunity to do their best.
